Judy Harris doesn’t look like your average content creator. She isn’t taking selfies on the beach or snapping her latest brunch. In fact, her Instagram feed looks like, well, a feed that most people her age might have. Judy is part of MS1’s Senior Influencer network, and when she shares her own unique story, her voice resonates with others who can truly relate.

You can learn more about the world’s first and only Senior-specific influencer network here.

“As a micro-influencer who is also a Senior, I advocate for causes based on my life experiences and take a personal interest in important issues. Connecting with my peers through social media generates real engagement and an opportunity for others to benefit from the message. Partnering with Main Street One has enabled me to share my story about a health scare I had some years ago. Abnormal cells on a Pap Smear Test revealed pre-cervical cancer. Without regular Pap Smears, my condition would have gone unnoticed and could have led to terminal cancer.

But that wasn’t my only project with Main Street One. They work with me from the moment an important issue is identified until my writing is submitted. My response is evaluated for clarity and uploaded on a platform whose targeted audience would be interested in the topic. Seniors play a crucial role in our society and our issues are different than those of younger generations. Just like warning older women about the dangers of abnormal pap smears, this is something that I didn’t have to consider when I was young. Similarly, reentering the “dating scene” after a quarter of a century of marriage, I needed to be informed about health and safety in a way that might not resonate with a younger individual. The point is: our day-to-day experiences are unique to our age, and so, too, should be the messages that reach us.

The work I have done with Main Street One allows the power of my voice to encourage change and build awareness for amazing causes among my actual peers, and I encourage you to do the same. With many diverse issues being represented, your appeal and opinions will connect your followers to crucial, timely causes. This is why I work with Main Street One in the Senior niche.”
